DG, exhaust pipe, silencer ??? 1990 cbr1000f
Recently bought a used 1990 Honda cbr 1000f,
Has a DG pipe on it.
I was hoping to find out if anyone recalls DG selling a pipe for this model ?
And I'd they did, what carb sets , needles, we're recommended.
I'm wanting to make sure this pipe is right and if they indeed changed the jets.
Thanks
Ryan

I've been riding streetbikes since 1984 and I dont recall DG making exhaust for streetbikes, they were into dirtbike stuff. But then again, who knows. If its just a slip on muffler and still has the original header, they really wouldnt need to be changed from stock. But if somebody did, and used too big of jets, that would definitely cause some spitting and sputtering, to some degree. It should say in the manual what size jets are stock from the factory.

I guess a picture would help. It sounds like you only have one can. If so, either the left side was plugged or a header was installed. Even stock you should up the jets to get away from the factory lean condition.

You will need to sync the carbs after. LINK
Easy job, remove saddle, tank and side plastic.
Remove each airbox bolt from side of airbox and loosen the one on top.
Loosen rubber boots between airbox and carbs, slide airbox backwards in bolt slot to make room.
Loosen 4 carb boots on motor.
Use big screwdriver wrapped in rag or something of the sort. Be careful not to engage the butterflies. Rotate the carb rack down and out. Slide the carb rack out to the left of the bike. I use a crowbar for this task.
You should have them out and on the bench in 20 minutes.
You should get this tool to turn your pilots in and then back out 2 1/2 turns. LINK or this one.
