Default coolant leak

Hey,

I have a coolant leak on the hard pipe where it goes into the motor on the right side.

Any help?

Slap some hi-temp rtv on it and cinch her down?

Is the pipe cracked? Or is the leak from where the hose meets the pipe?

I've had the latter before, and adding another clamp solved the problem.

No, it's from where the hard pipe where it enters the engine itself. The one that runs horizontal to the cylinders. Just a drip, but a persistent one, but it explains my overheat from last year

Looking like an o-ring failure.

I'm on it. I have o-rings at my work. May need to work out metric equivalents.

Need to convert 18.3X2.3 to US. but it's do-able

If it's not the o ring or the gasket you could consider the possibility of rust and a weak spot in the pipe - these pipes are prone to rust.
The are obtainable on e bay but I'd either braze a new half round over the spot where it's leaking or maybe cut the pipe and fit a complete slightly oversize pipe over the old one and braze/weld it on as a permanent solution.

I've replaced the o-ring down by the water pump from one from Lowes a few years back and its holding up fine. It was a tight fit but some lube got the job done.

Ok guys. Finally got around to pulling the pipe and found no evidence of rot or corrosion.

fit was tight. took a fair bit of prying and mallet and lever action to break free.

O rings look flattened and dry. Please see thumbs and advse.

Edit. did i say the o-rings were dry? Sh#te! More like fossilized.

I'm going to press on here without waiting for a response. O-rings from work are the right diameter but not the right thickness. I can double them up in the groove nicely . I think this and a spot of rtv will do the trick.
