It's most propably nothing more than a stubborn bubble in the main cylinder, it can be a # to get out. Sometimes letting it sit for a few hours or overnight helps, sometimes it comes out if you just stubbornly and calmly keep pumping it till the cows come home. You can try to get it out by loosening the banjo bolt but remember to tighten it before letting go of the lever or you'll end up sucking in even more air. I had the same problem with my front brakes not a week ago, my rescue was that I got a piece of hose between the reservoir and the cylinder so I could squeeze the bubble out. Some say it also helps to tilt the bike back and forth while bleeding.

The sell reverse bleeders on eBay for $15.

I'll never use anything else to bleed brakes and clutches ever again. The longest its taken me since getting the reverse bleeder (which is just a fancy name for a brake fluid resistant canister and simple pump) has been 5 minutes.

I've had exactly the same thing a couple of times now, and for no obvious reason, the first time I bought another bleed valve and it worked just time after that, the 2nd I did the same but no difference...I ended up just starting over checking my work again, loosening and re-tightening etc..I bought a couple of new washers for the reservoir end at the banjo bolt, and seemed to be good after that, can't be sure they were the cause tho, but worth a try?

Your clutch lever has a built in reservoir, I have a separate reservoir with a short hose in between.

I'll say that's a stubborn bubble you got there. Have you tried pushing fluid backwards into the system from the bleeder valve with a big syringe?
