Default CBR1000f Pic Update.

Hi, I would just like to post my work in progress '87, since getting it 2 years ago, I have replaced the front rim for a mark 2 to match the rear, mk2 sprocket cover and speedo drive fitted, rubbed down and re-sprayed the front forks and had front and rear rims powder coated.
I was going to re-paint the rear sub-frame and swing arm this winter, but it was to cold, so may take it off the road in the next few weeks to do it, as its the only bit that is really letting it down.
I am going to try some VFR bars on it to see what its like, just a bit to much weight on a previously broken and dislocated wrist!! lol.
I think I need a newer centre stand as the original one is to far gone on the rust front, any one got one kicking about I could purchase, UK.
So, what do ya think?

Thanks Chippy, I was gonna get rid last year and get something newer, but though what the hell, may as well keep her on the road, it still rides and goes well for 27 years old, lol.

I know what you mean, I was going to get rid of mine but after speaking to m wife she told me to get it sorted out and back on the road.

I spent about 4 months stripping it down and fitting new parts, brake discs, pads, chain etc. to it and even did the stick coil upgrade to mine.
It walked it's MOT but now the back brake doesn't work, see my post Frustrated beyond belief.

I will PM you when I'm coming up to York next (I was stationed there for my last years in the army) and maybe we can go for a blast somewhere.

Yeah, nice exactly like mine, (apart from the pipes(I think there might be a 4 in 1 hidden there (left side photo please))).

There is a certain pleasure though? in having such an old original bike.

Superb job weeto and how do u find the handling with the bigger tires?
For the rear fender to replace the wheel hugger, a mk2 or 3 inside febder will do the job this way you protect the electric components.

No definetly a 4 into 2, defo a pleasure in keeping a bike like this in use, average yearly mileage for the bike is just over 200 miles, there is a few years were it looks like it came out the garage had annual test, then put back in the garage.

I got an inner fender, but not really had the time to work out how it is supposed to fit, the rear wheel was done before I got it but will try to fit it at some point. cheers.

She's drop dead gorgeous Weeto and full of character.

Center stands come up on e-bay regularly, not too expensive either I think this is the first time I've looked and there hasn't been 2 or 3.
