CBR1000F K fuel problems
Hi, New to this with a recently accquired, CBR1000f k its in a rough old state as a streetfighter/ rat bike. I am slowly bringing back to road legal, MOT ready & reliable starter quality. Issue is having removed tank (not really noting where breather hoses & fuel hoses were connected. Also stripping carbs off & cleaning but not setting up. New battery as old one lost charge too quickly. New starter motor too. lots of other stuff but not related. I cant now get the tank to release fuel, no matter how I align the petcock no fuel flows. can someone advise?
I'm sure its a gravity fed system & no fuel pump is visible.
Is there a schematic/ diagram abvailble for ease of reference & a brief idioy guide for me to follow?
Cheers

Internal tank screen / mesh is gunked up - clean or discard totally.
Unscrew tank petcock and rebuild &/or de-gunk which ever is cheapest
also tank breather maybe rusted shut drill small hole in fuel tank cap under
key flap
Trust me - do all 3 - plenty of petrol will flow

Then that rules out any issues there

Welcome to the site. You should have a electric fuel pump unless someone took it off and made it 100 percent gravity fed. It is gravity fed through the petcock then after the switch there is a fuel line that runs to the fuel pump. Check and make sure you fuel switch is in the correct position. There are 3 positions. ON- which is straight up. Off- which is horizontal. RES- is straight down. Once you get fuel flow next thing I would also check would be fuel pump and replace the fuel filter.

You need to check the vacuum line coming off the left side of the head where the vacuum port is. If that vacuum line is cracked, you will not get enough vacuum to open the flow.
welcome to the forum.

Learn something new everyday. TimBucTwo your right on. Just pulled out the ole manual and the 1000 K is gravity fed. The 1000 H, J and all 600 models are fuel fed by a electric fuel pump.
Well at least Martin O will save money by not having to buy a fuel pump.

I got my information from the Haynes Honda CBR600F1 and 1000F Fours. Covers 1987-1996 years. Haynes states the engine VIN on 1000 models is located on the front edge of the crankcase next to the crankcase mating surfaces. Supposedly this VIN tells the model code, a serial code, the model year and the manufacturers identification.
So what does the frame VIN tell us, mine starts of with a JH2SC24 so does that mean I have a J and H model, LOL. The haynes manual doesnt break it down. In fact for my 94 and 93-96 US models it says the details are not available. Then says a 92 model was not even produced for the US .This would be the US 49 state models and the California model. Then there is the UK models which shows information for all models 87-96 but no details for the 92 year. Really the details dont show much either, looks like just production sequence numbers.
I need to look at my engine VIN just for reference.
I do know I have a electric fuel pump. I have seen it and put my hand on it. LOL. Oh yea my bike does say 1000F on the decal....LOL. I cant decide wether to put a J or a H after the F. At least we know F comes before H and J in the alphabet.
I am just trying to make things more confusing.
