Like Woofer said. I'd do one of two things if this were me. I'd either take the advice of some of the guys here who have the know how and experience to get your carbs sorted over a period of time or just take it to a decent mechanic and say " fix it and call me when its done ". Given that your prepared to spend x amount of dollars converting to a FI system, I'm sure my option one will seem a tiny outlay in comparison.
Good luck with it.

How do you say what I want to say in 5 fewer paragraphs?

wow, thank you everyone for the input, it was a thought because i did hit a wall with the carbs, and like everyone has said, it will be easier to just clean these out and tey and fix them or replace them. im just upset becasue i spent the entire season working on this bike and taking to a shop ands dumped a few bills and nothing works still. that place really screwed me over and i dont know what to do about that. they still have my cam chain and tensioner!!!!!

They better have my stuff still! Or I'm going to be taking other actions. It's bad enough they help my motorcycle for 6 weeks and nothing got done. but if they think they will get away with taking thinks I bought, well they have another thing coming.

I was going to upgrade a Chevy I had from a 2.8L V6 to the newer 3.1L V6. The short blocks were the same but the bigger bore engine had different injectors, cams, valves and other stuff not to mention the computer and map. Just changing injected engine to injected engine turned out to be a headache so I didn't do it.
