both Ignition and instrument panel does not work, help?
Hello, i have a 93 cbr 1000f. recently after 2 days of non use i come back to ride it again and i get nothing when i turn the key on, ignition and the panel lights or any other light doesn't even come on. I have checked both the fuse box and the main fuse and all seem to be in working shape, i did notice that the connector that covers the main fuse at some point had a good amount of heat because alot of the plastic is melted. mainly the plastic that actually goes over the metal pins are the worst. i would love any ideas or suggestions you could give, thanks

Time to get your meter out and start tracing voltage from the battery.
Sounds like the fuse holder would be a good place to start if there's signs of melting. Not a good sign but a good place to start looking.
Do you have a wiring diagramme? That always helps.
I'm afraid I don't have time to go delving into the full diagnostics now but if you don't get any joy post back and someone will jump in and help I'm sure.
Persevere.
Good luck.

so i took out the meter and battery had 16.0 volts but when i checked the 4 pin connector that is grouped with the 30 amp main fuse 2 pins away from the fuse had 16.0 volts also but the 2 pin close to the fuse showed nothing, i don't know if this is normal or that this means i have found the problem. i don't know how to check the ignition to see if it is getting power so any help on that would be great thanks. Download a wiring diagramme. You will need this if you're going to get any joy. Failing that you can methodically trace the wire colours through the harness from point to point. Not easy but do-able. Electrical problems are generally a PITA to resolve unless there's something glaringly obvious.
If you've got voltage going to the battery side of the main fuse, have you got voltage on the other side of the fuse? Check the obvious things first. You may have a bad contact on the fuse holder its self.
