Default Bike Alarm & Install

Hi again folks,

With all the work I have been doing on my bike I have decided to install an alarm on my lady so I don't ever lose her. I have a choice of 2 that I am looking at:

ADVANCED MOTORBIKE MOTORCYCLE BIKE ALARM & IMMOBILISER | eBay

New VOYAGER 5000M 2 Way Pager LCD Remote Start Motorcycle Superbike Alarm System | eBay

As you can see they are both similar in price and seem to do the same thing.

Just a couple of questions. Has anyone installed one of these themselves? If so how difficult was it?

I won't be wiring in the remote start, I don't think that is a good idea for a bike.

I've looked on the internet and there are a couple of write ups on different sites and with different bikes and it doesn't look too difficult.

If no one else has done it I might do a write up with pics when I get it and if I can do it.

I have done so on my F800 ST BMW.

Just installing the alarm portion is very easy.

All it needs is a place for the box to go, a ground connection, and solid 12v and a switched 12v.

If you want to use it as an immobiliser too, then you need to wire the ignition coil (12v) side through it as well.

The remote start is normally wired through the starter button, meaning it wont remote start if its in gear, or has the side stand down, but I think remote start on a motorbike is a bit pointless
