I am in Bamberg, Germany for the next 3 months. I am considering getting a cheap bike to go around. I would like to know if there is anyone nearby that could get me some advice. For example, if I do buy a motorcycle in Germany, how easy do you think will be to sell it again? What kind of paperwork am I looking at? Are there extra fees for registration and things like that? Is there anything like Craigslist in the US, or should I got to a dealership?

I have looked into renting but prices are just too excessive, sometimes even for a single weekend.

Hi. Welcome to the forum.

In your post you ask about going to a dealership, I think that might be a very good starting point. I'm sure they will be able to answer a lot of your questions, just don't let them sell you the most expensive bike in the shop!

 

There is a German website which has wound up in the UK called Shpock. They refer to it as the Bootsale app but there are cars an bikes etc on there.
