Alternator Damper discontinued by Honda?!
Just got off the phone from Partzilla.com
Honda have discontinued the Alternator Damper part # 28130-MM-010 DAMPER, ALTERNATOR
Has anyone successfully obtained this part in the last few weeks/months?
If so where from?
All thoughts gratefully received.

Gents, thanks for the replies.
The Mark II is available. Do we feel it will fit in the Mk I engine though? Local Dealer here in Bne says the chain is the same, so sprocket will fit. The alternator shaft is the same, so will fit. Hmm, anyone bought the 28130-MS2-610 part to go in a Mk I engine?
Local price is $266 AUD v 90 USD from Partzilla etc. (Gulp!)
Wish I had picked it up sooner, I would have got Partzilla to send that part anyway. All other parts on their way already - which for a change is annoying not pleasing!
Picking up a parts bike tomorrow, so worst case scenario is to give the two dampers to mechanic and ask him to play?
Will post pics of parts bike - $400! only wanted the fairing but came with a free (dead) bike?!

Rebuilding your starter damper can be done (I've done it)
Don't confuse it with the starter clutch which is a different piece altogether.
There's a fine post in the how to section - I just added an extra cup washer and cleaned the plates, and away we went to the races !
(I have a couple of spare plates somewhere and maybe a cup washer if you feel the need to save some money)..............

Shadow- thanks for the offer, stand by and watch this space!
At the moment I'm keen to see if anyone has a Mk II Alternator Damper they are willing to measure up for me?
Looking at the exploded diagrams I'm not hopeful.
I need to know the length along the axis of rotation
And the diameter of the body.
If both of those are the same i can start to check into the lateral location along the shaft of the Alternator. This will be critical to ensure the sprocket is not offset.
Hmm, i suspect a rebuild of existing one looms!
Please let me know if you have a MkII sitting around.
