Hi all

My new to me CBR was very hard to start but when running was ok.

Does this seem like the revs hang a bit? I am thinking maybe an air leak?


Maybe its fine, it seems better today (from the video above) than it was yesterday. I havent checked with easystart etc near the carb boots yet either.

 

It sounds like, MAYBE, one carb could be out of sync a bit causing a very slight delay on return to idle. Nothing major however.

We tend to forget in these days of EFI that not all engines are silky smooth.

There are members here that would love to have their bikes running like yours.

If that delay is bothering you, I'd start with checking the carb balance first, that could also effect the cold start problem.

 

Im sure it could do with some carb balancing, it needs a good service, etc. As I pull it apart im sure I will find a fair few things that need correcting.

That is a good point, to be honest the engine sounds sweet, no problems whatsoever, and the longer I run it the lower the delay gets. I wonder if the idle circuit was partially blocked.

Oh well. Will have a check!
