95 1000f fan
Alright guys, new Hurricane owner. About 3 months now.
So upon some inspection the other day I find that some of the wires
hanging around are actually the fan's motor wires.
The fan isn't hooked up at all..
Question is, should I just wire it up so it runs constant when the bike is on?
Or, should I install a toggle switch and just flip it on when I feel she is getting
warm?

NO
Why not wire it up correctly so that it comes on when the bike gets beyond a certain temperature ? That way the bike will run at optimum temp all the time.
Having the fan on all the time isn't a good thing.
The fan connects to a switch on the radiator.
Having a separate switch is good IF you ride in very hot conditions or traffic where the bike runs above normal highway temps.
If you need a "how to" let us know..........

I can try to hook the wires back up if I can find where they are supposed to go. I'll probably end up having to wire my own toggle for it.
Nothing electrical on this bike is how it's supposed to be.
Not sure how good all the harnesses are.
No horn or signals. I downloaded the manuals to see if I could find the right
wires and wire up my custom turn signals. but either I didn't have the right
ones or the wires aren't getting any power. Maybe both.
My speedo and headlights are wired with their own toggle switches.
They don't come on with bike or off with ignition so gotta make sure I turn
them on and off.
Tail light is constant on bright, no brightening with brakes.
Does come on and off with ignition though.
I'll check the wires on that tomorrow if I get some time.
My friend had the same problem and two of his wires coming out of
the front brake lever weren't connected.

Hate to say it , but it sounds like you have the makings of an electrical nightmare. You will certainly need a good copy of the circuit diagram and I would suggest that if you dont already own an AVO (amps volts ohm) meter or whatever you call them in your part of the world, you should invest a few dollars in one and get used to using it as it sounds like you have a few challenges ahead.Dont get discouraged with the complexity of it all just work on one thing at a time and keep checking supply(volts) and continuity(ohms) throughout each section of the circuits.
I know this sounds a bit smartass but I'm no sparkie but with a bit of logical interpretation of the diagram it it all pretty logical
best of luck

sounds like you have quite a job on your hands,
but the cbr is pretty logical for wiring - much more so than the yamaha I've just rewired.
the fan is pretty easy to power direct from an in line fused feed from the battery - I have a toggle switched auxiliary fan on my cbr as well as the thermostat controlled one.
but your bike is naked and I was wondering if you need the fan - what is your countrys temp? I'm at 25c with a lot of stop start traffic and sitting in jams with fast blasts in between and the cbr doesnt go into the red at all.... my point being maybe your coolant is low or expired?
your temp guage is in the red?, are your coolant levels good and newish?
I do need the fans though as the temp here gets in the high 40's with 100%humidity.
if you need a good a good wiring diagram for your cbr just send me your email and I'll send some schematics.

Oh I definitely need it.
It's been around the 80s and 90s (F) and it's not even hitting the real summer
weather yet.
I went for a long cruise yesterday, around 2 hours, and had no problems.
I keep her topped up on water and some stuff called hyper lube super coolant.
The stuff that cools it up to 20 degrees colder.
Don't have a temp gauge lol
only got a speedo and odometer.

soooo no idea if it's running hot or not?
connect it up to the thermostat then for sure, on all the time might not be a good thing.
at the thermostat end you should have a 2 pin plug with a green and a black wire, this connects to the plug from the loom on the lower lhside.
am assuming your loom is original - cant imagine why someone would rig up a diy loom?
but then your bike sounds kinda unique!
I quite like minimalist rat bikes but yours is taking it a bit too far lol.
edit - you have a thermostat in your radiator?

It may sound extreme but wouldn't you be better off fitting a replacement loom ? They do come up on e-Bay quite often.
Don't have a temp gauge lol
only got a speedo and odometer.
I have a temp and fuel gauges going begging if you need them - and a rev counter - cost minimal and some postage.

in a few places that just aren't connected to anything. Just taped or
ziptied up somewhere.
I would like to get the gauges, but not sure if I would have anywhere to
mounth them lol How much you askin?

There's a plug on the lower left side of the radiator. only 1 wire, black
with a blue stripe.
It connects to the fan. The fan has a black and blue stripe wire coming
from the fan motor, there is also a black wire that's already grounded dangling with it tied together so they don't flap around
so I'm assuming they go together.
