Default 88 CBR1000 - New owner, looking for advice

Just bought an 88 Hurricane with 5400 miles on it - yes, they're the original miles. Bikes in great shape and dealer checked it all out and gave a thumbs up. Been riding a bit, but wanted some advice from long-time riders of this machine on any idiosyncrasies with it. Should I make any immediate mods? It is completely stock. Thanks for the advice.

Wow! Sweet. I thought I would have had the trophy on that one. I hope you picked yours up from someone else who never rode it as well, or you have multiple bikes and spread your riding time. Otherwise, it's pure sacrilege! Mine will have plenty more miles on it come summer time, I can guarantee you that. And you'll have your exclusive status back.

Here's a quick pic from my BB. I'll post some more this weekend when I get back to SoCal.

Welcome to the forum fella! I'll never understand how a 23 year old bike could have only done such few miles? What a waste! Still, I'm glad that you're going to put that right! lol

Make sure you change ALL the fluids before riding it tho! Brake fluid, engine oil and filter & coolant.....

Have fun! .... It's a great looking bike!

PS: I thought my 89 CBR1000F-J was fairly low mileage with 23k miles till I saw yours! Shows you can find out there if you look hard enough!

What a great score! I'm also scratching my head as to why it wouldn't have been ridden more.

The guys have covered everything you needed to do. Just one more thing....RIDE IT!!
