Default 1st gear, top speed, ?

What's the top speed at red line in 1st gear you are getting on your cbr1000f, ?

As some of you may have seen my previous issue I'm having with my carbs.

Before I was hitting 75/80 in 1st gear at red line. But was fouling #4 plug often

Now it's like 55/60 mph.

I checked a few plugs today, they are a nice brown color.

I'm still trying to tune the carbs better, but not having a carb sync, is a issue. I'm still trying to borrow one.

But I'd like to know what others are getting top speed in 1st gear.

2nd gear top speed was like 112.at red line.

Now I'm like only at 85/90.

I've got to be in 3rd gear now to get over 100 mph.

The info, can help me, in figuring out, if maybe I didn't have a slight clutch slip before and now I dont.

Or if it is still a carb issue.

The only thing on the carbs, I have adjusted is the carb slide heights and the idle screw.

I did take the top of the carb off, 1 and 4 carb and put back on. Was very clean and I checked the needle settings. On carb 1 and 2.

So, hope you all can tell me, what speed at red line on 1st hear and 2nd gear u are all getting.

Thanks,

Ryan

It would be an interesting math exercise to calculate the speeds for each gear. You have the ratios in your manual.

Very nice and easy to use. Obviously won't account for drag or weight of rider.

One of the problem some of the members have had is, the 'h' shaped do-hickey in the rubber intakes, if missing will allow the rubber intakes to collapse and starve a high reving engine.
