1990 1000f l Starter clutch problems
Hi everyone. I've come for some help Please!!!
My CBR was layed up poorly just over a year ago, with what I was reliably told due to the starter damper (By a mechanic). After parting with £150 at local dealer for new damper (good 2nd hand are like rockinhorse S**#)
I folowed Stu's guide on how to swap it (Thank Mate )
No lost bearings or chains, but same piggy squeal of I don't want to start!!!
Anyone got an idea what to try next...

I don't hear anything out of the ordinary in the clip. Are you sure you are getting spark and fuel?
Also lift the tank and see if the enrichners are working. With the choke (enrichner) **** engaged, look to see if the slide is moving to the right. These bikes are hard to start if the mixture is not enriched when starting.
With the tank lifted, it would be a good time to check for spark.
The petcock is operated by vacuum and fuel will not flow unless there is vacuum in it. A cracked vacuum line will cause heartache.
Maybe someone else can hear something in the clip but to me it does sound normal.

In the link I posted earlier, that bike in the clip is cranking way to slow to start (defiantly a turkey getting guts ripped out in that clip).
Mine sounds like his clip. Yours sounds cleaner.
