Bought a 2002 f4i yestrday and ran great all day. Put some regular gas in last evening and today the bike was jumping a bit and the reserve indicator would come on and go off randomly. Wondering if this is just because the previous owner used premium and regular gas has been mixed?

Mixing gas wont do that. Sounds like a vent tube kinked or fuel pump goin out.

I'd run it till empty, and then fill it with whatever you want. Check the fuel pump/sensor, and spark plugs.

The fuel indicator will get tricked by the fuel sloshing around if you're turning often. So if you're borderline running on reserve, it may go on and off.

The jumping I have no idea.

a little over 40 000

It's supposed to run on regular unleaded. Could be bad gas. Run some Sea Foam or Techron through it.
