View Full Version : Yoshimura or Two Bros??????
CHEMISTRANGER 08-10-2009, 10:46 PM I want a Carbon Fiber can & I am getting Yoshimura or Two Bros....... I was just wondering if anyone can give me a reason to go with one over the other..... I suppose it is just opinion but I wanted to see what people say....... If you think another brand is better let me know that also......
Also I guess eBay would be the best place to get a good price...... I want it to be new...... If anyone has suggestions of where to buy cheap let me know.......
I did search the forums but didn't get the detail answers I was looking for......
Thanks,
Joe
They're about the same. I like the Yosh tips better, and the TwoBros sound better (it's a little deeper at lower RPMs).
Drew212 08-11-2009, 12:05 AM If it isn't a full exhaust the only thing you will be changing is the tone of your exhaust, most slip-ons give similar horsepower. And then, most after-market full exhausts net the similar horsepower too. The two bros sounds a little thicker/deeper.
nightfox 08-11-2009, 07:35 AM i know you want a new pipe but just letting you know that i have a carbon D&D full system that i would sell for about the price of a slip on. I put less than 1500 miles on it and now its in the box and the headers are hanging on the wall. Its in great condition with no damage. It is a nice loud pipe if that is what you are into. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks
Mitch
BTW- I now have a 2bros carbon M2 slip on and love it but just wish it were a little deeper/louder at idle.
purpleslug 08-11-2009, 09:44 AM D&D is F ing loud!
RojerLockless 08-11-2009, 09:55 AM I'd take almost anything over a yosh, that's a Suzuki pipe and it doesnt have any business on my Honda. That being said there's nothing wrong with it, but the Honda racing team used to use 2bro's
Cbr4Lyfe 08-11-2009, 10:44 AM TwoBrothers FTW! Better sound, better looks.
Joey_f4i 08-11-2009, 11:55 AM Go with the Yoshimura TRS, its an excellent sounding pipe, not to mention that its a beautifully crafted slip-on.
The 2 bro's pipe is IMHO very ugly, unless your ride's paint scheme is yellow/black it looks a bit out of place. (This is an opinion)
I ride with a group of around 40-45 riders and get regular compliments of the sound of my Yoshimura TRS SS.
I love the low RPM growl of the TRS yet the scream at 7-8+ RPM sounds awesome! I debated over just these two slip-ons when I was in the market for a slip-on, and found the Yoshi was much better suited for what I expected and wanted from my slip-on.
If you want to hear a few sound clips and before and after pics during install, check out this link.

dave ls1 08-11-2009, 03:39 PM It's all about what you want it to look like. The sound is pretty similar on the F4i.
Joey_f4i 08-11-2009, 03:51 PM What Dave said.
At the end of the day you gatta ask yourself what looks best to you.
BTW, its a bit frowned upon to post non-forum affiliated merchants and their prices. PM me if you'd like the webpage where I found the cheapest Yoshi slip-on pipes.
johnnyx 08-11-2009, 03:59 PM 2 bros sounds better while idling and under 4k, but what the hell are you doing hanging out there? They really lose overall decibels above that, though they are deeper through the entire range. The yosh is going to give that more face-melting classic supersport sound at a higher dB rating, but that may not be of interest to you at all. As far as looks go, I personally think the 2 bros looks kindof junky, though they certainly aren't in actuality.
Jerzdan 08-11-2009, 08:51 PM +1 on the 2 Bros looking a little crappy. I have a carbon fiber yoshi and couldnt be happier with it. When i was lookin at slip ons i saw a couple pictures with the 2 bros and the midpipe looked funny, like it was too long or too thin or something. It was quite possibly just the pictures i saw but its worth mentioning cause i was in the same boat as you not too long ago.
nightfox 08-11-2009, 11:02 PM D&D is F ing loud!
yeah it was...which is why I went with the 2bros carbon slip-on to match my blacked out with carbon paint scheme. I like the 2bros but wish it sounded just a little meaner like the D&D but just not that loud.
Uniqsol 08-12-2009, 01:05 AM Two Brother M5. The M5 sounds better than the M2 (even though many say they sound the same - Aken :) - they don't). M5 is a deeper and smoother tone.
Just my .02
VTcbr 08-19-2009, 04:36 AM D n D is too loud and a waste of time!!
@ bros alllll the way bro!
no offense but the carbon fiber starts to look like crap after awhile---stick with chrommmmme.
yog182 08-19-2009, 08:39 AM I bought my F4i with the yosh TRS on it and that was the first thing to go.. I actually have a scorpion extreme CF shorty on mine and that sounds awesome.. But if your set between the two go two bros.. I know a lot of guys that have the full systems on their bike and they are amazing. Good luck on what ever you do!
CHEMISTRANGER 08-21-2009, 11:00 AM Thanks to everyone for your replies...... I like the way the Yoshi looks but I like the idea of a lower pitch growl from the Two Bros...... I also like that the Honda race team used Two Bros before......
The looks are close with a slight edge to Yoshi.....
If everyone is correct the sound advantage goes to Two Bros......
Honda race team using Two Bros......
Based on this information I am leaning towards the Two Bros.......
I would look at other brands but for price I think one of these would be the way to go and it looks like Two Bros is the ultimate affordable way to go in my opinion.......
If anyone wants to add more, please do.......
One thing I should probably mention is that I am trying to get away from a loud pipe....... I am running a straight pipe right now & I don't even want to get on the thing until I get a quieter pipe...... That said I still want it to sound mean but low enough decibels were you can focus on riding, not that annoying, monotone, constant, roar.......
Thanks Again,
Joe

Very loud, very deep, 10x better looking than any other pipe out there. I went with the 10" and it is very loud. At idle it drowns out any other bike I have been around. Sounds incredible, deep, loud, growl. My friend has a Jardine pipe which is a ncie volume level for cruising, but too high pitch for me. Did I mention how incredible this pipe is?

that thing is a POS
chetman7 08-22-2009, 11:58 AM if ur lookin for a gp style exhaust like that..I would look at the HR1 riot pipe....its that kind of style...dunno if its good or not..and expensive to boot
cbrballer 08-22-2009, 03:22 PM quick question: are f4 and f4i exhausts interchangable? i see a f4 two bros slip, was wondering if i can throw that on the f4i w/o modification?

thanks for your response, yea i wouldnt expect much from a $60 exhaust. those riot pipes sound amazing, but im not trying to spend over $400 for a slip on.
Uhh Glitch 08-23-2009, 06:12 PM check out D&D that's on my bike...sounds really good IMO..not c/f though
F4ith 08-23-2009, 06:33 PM Sport Rider did an article on slip-ons and got sound clips + dyno for quite a few pipes. Pretty neat if you're comparing sounds.
