Bet the guy on the bikes set for life now, if he's still living. Should be alive still, the way he got hit would have jettisoned him to the side. Alot of rash and a few broken bones but he didn't seem to get hit by oncoming, he's likely ok and pursuing the grand daddy of all lawsuits right now. Dumb a$$ fuzz. Who swerves into a uturn from the far lane? Seriously?

police are usually insured through the state, which would be handling the case. Most of the accidents I heard of that were caused by a cop were an uphill battle for the victim. Unless they were shot or something.

Bad news:
Guy on the bike probably won't get much. The cop did turn on his lights. When they're on, all traffic is supposed to yield to the emergency vehicle. They'll give the biker a token amount but it will likely be declared a no fault accident or a pursuit based accident :(

Something like that happend here last year, guy driveing his bike down a 2 lane just feeling fat dumb and happy and the deputy was sitting on the shoulder faceing the same diretion the bike was heading and just as the bike was about on top of the cop, AT the posted speed, the moron cop decides to make a u-turn, killed the rider, of course the cop said he turned his lights on, my ass he did, but you guys are all right when u say nothings going to happen,,,,rider left wife of 12 years and 4 kids,
