So i bought an alarm off ebay, it is the Spy LM508. Has anyone ever installed this on their bike (is it a good alarm or not?), i am wondering because i would like some more information before i start splicing wires and connecting it. I also do not have the original owners manual for the bike if anyone has a link or a copy of a free one they can email me i would appreciate it. If anyone has ever hooked this alarm up before can i please get some diagrams or pictures of what wires to connect to other wires. I am pretty smart with this kind of stuff, but i would just like to be able to do some extra preparation because it makes everything easier in the long run.

I have a scporpio alarm on my f4i. The company makes an adapter kit for the bike which allows you to simply plug into the factory inputs without splicing. then you simply connect one wire to the pos and one to the neg on the battery and your golden. try checking Spy's web site. they might do something similar. or atleast maybe have a wiring diagram. if you need a wiring diagram for the f4i i have one i might be able to scan.

Depends on how it's wired.

If it's directly attached to the battery, then it might put a slow drain (not sure how much, although that may vary on the alarm)

Odds are, if you install one, and ride (or at least turn the bike on and let it run) every once in awhile, then it shouldn't matter.

The only time you might notice it being a problem is if it's directly wired, and you let it sit for awhile, which would put a drain that may make a difference.

Haha, yeah my apologies.

I mean either directly wired to the battery (nothing between it), or having something like a relay or in between, so the alarm isn't getting 100% of the power, but a certain amount.

Explaining stuff can be hard on the internet sometimes, haha, hopefully someone else can come in and assist :)
