Remove fairings, tank, and airbox to get to it. Unbolt it, good luck with the bottom bolt, its a pita. I ended up cutting the "L" off my allen wrench and using a socket with the long part of the allen. Scrape off any gasket residue, then replace with new gasket. While the old one is out use it as a guide for setting the length of the new one. (Not screwd out all the way, same distance from mounting surface to the end that makes contact with the cam chain) As a precaution, dont let the bike roll any while its out. Not sure how you're supposed to start the bike with the tank removed, I didn't. I haven't had any rattles yet.

Mid-ish range revs (mine was around 3-6000ish rpm's) sound like something is seriously rattling, for a better use of words.
The worse the rattling gets, the closer the cam chain tensioner is to giving out, and if the timing skips...say goodbye to your motor.

In addition to the B.A.R.F. link, here's another if you want to cross reference

my bike has 20,000 miles on it now. I bought it used so i doubt that the previous owner changed the cct. Do you guys think that its time for me to change it its hard to hear the vibration or rattle you guys are talking about.

I wouldn't assume anything, for we all know what assuming does.
If you don't hear it, I wouldn't worry about it. But if you begin to hear it, I would look into it, because the worse the rattling is, the more dangerous it becomes to your motor.
how much is the cct part?
I got mine off of eBay from a store in I believe Ohio, I can't find the page but it was ~50 bucks + shipping iirc.
