Hey folks.

A few weeks ago I lowered my 05 F4i 1" in the rear with a link and 1.25" in the front. As we all know, that makes the bike stand almost straight up. Now that I have found a reputable welder, how much does the kickstand need to be shortened in order to sit about normal after the height drop?

Thanks!

Can't you figure this out just by playing with it? Put the kick stand up, lean it to the angle you'd like it to be, try putting the kickstand down and eyeball how much you need to cut off to make it that height.

The wifes 01 F4i has about 2.5" drop at the rear (none at the front yet) & needs about 1 3/4 - 2" cut out the stand.

Hope that helps a little

Aken,

I appreciate your help on the matter. My problem is that I'm capable and mechanically inclined, but I'm not motorcycle experienced. That being said, your idea is a little hard for the newbie.

Mrbret,

That sounds, to me, that I should go down about 1 solid inch and if it needs to be chopped again, chop and weld again. I was looking at 2" but you gave me a starting point. Thanks.

If you plan on lowering it anymore than just do 2 inches now and save yourself the time and money later... :) Mine is lowered3 inches the back and has about a 2 inch cut on the kickstand worked well for me... and mine is pretty upright could have used even more.

Damn 3" ... that's pretty low. Doesn't the ground clearance bother you. I have to drop my bike 1 1/2" for my short ass and I still have to go around speed bumps.

Went with a 2" cut and weld and it leans like it should. Thanks folks.
