View Full Version : NOT ALL RIDERS ARE COOL.....HELP
hibadrr 01-21-2006, 01:10 AM Aloha everyone,,I recently bought a 05 CBR600 RR that was wrecked ..I paid for the bike and the guy gave me a promisary note for all the necessary paperwork as soon as available..now seven months have passed with weekly calls to this person and only excuses. Now, no calls are returned and he thinks he is the invisible man. I really could use a 05 600 RR FRAME, to get this bike on the road or I will just continue my quest to seek out this guy for my paperwork.
pizzle954rr 01-21-2006, 02:43 AM why do you have to have the paper work to buy a frame?
hibadrr 01-21-2006, 05:04 AM I HAVE TWO CHOICES,,,1. CONTINUE TRYING TO GET PAPERWORK FROM THE GUY I BOUGHT THE BIKE FROM OR 2. GET ANOTHER FRAME WITH PAPERWORK
shraz 01-21-2006, 06:33 AM y did u buy a wrecked bike in the first place
Anubis 01-21-2006, 07:33 AM Check ebay or your local bike breakers for a frame, seems this guy is gonna keep you going forever mate.
Repsol1 01-21-2006, 09:05 PM If you need paperwork so you can register the bike. Just put a lean on the title and its yours.... Oh yea, you said Aloha are you from Hawaii? If so I'll be there in March

you might consider contacting your local DPS. The guy may not of even owned the bike. there are lots of shysters out there. i ran into legal ownership problems with my bike that cost me 2 g's.
problem with contacting the DPS is they will seize the bike if its stolen.
slowpoke 01-22-2006, 03:26 PM Can the serial number be run on something like carfax?
Destinmatt 01-23-2006, 02:39 AM That happened to me and my last car. Morale of the story is don't trust people on important things like paperwork. Try to run a carfax if possible or find out who it's actually titled to. My car was still titled to its previous owner when I bought it. Called em up and he signed the paperwork for me no problem. It takes 2 weeks to get a new title, not a year.
pitsvtec 01-23-2006, 12:09 PM Have an attorney leave a message....is the bike stolen?
Custom900 01-23-2006, 08:34 PM Get in touch with the insurance company you plan to insure the bike with or even the DMV for that matter and ask them how to get a legal binder on the bike so you can title it and ride. I know several people that have had to do this because of lost titles and such over time.
javscbr 01-25-2006, 03:04 PM i have some friends that can pay this guy a little visit and i promise he will get the paperwork. holler at your boy if you need it. lol
Hi
The chap whom should have already sent you the documents is obviously hiding something, it could be that he has lost or miss placed the documents or he could have smashed it up and sold it to you then reported it as stolen and retrieved the money from his insurance company ?, or maybe he is lazy or just rude.
In the UK the bike frame and engine serial numbers and recorded on a document called a V5, if the owner can prove that the machine is there possession (they have a receipt for the sale of the machine etc) the owner can request a new V5 from the "Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency" (DVLA) be sent to them with the new owners details, is there any procedure in the U.S that is similar?.
Although it would be satisfying to nock the seller about and take what is rightfully yours it might save you allot of time and heartache to purchase a pre owned 05 RR frame.
Regards
Jim
Tahoe SC 01-25-2006, 04:50 PM yo mang...if you have the paperwork that money was transferred and that he gave you the wrecked frame, take the VIN to the po po or DMV and see if dude reported it stolen.
or you can say "hey mang give me paperwork or i go to DMV"...
