I'm hearing some rattling noise in the lower RPM(~4k-5.5k). When I get past 6.5k rpm, I dont really hear it, or maybe it's because the exhaust/engine too loud to hear anything.

My '01 only has about 3700 miles on it. Could the CCT be dead that early? Could it be the valves need adjusted? I sure hope it isnt the valves. Or could it be the chain?

4000 sounds early, mine is noisy right at 5000 and is gone by 6500 too. I have close to 14,000 miles on my 06 but has really sounded like this since new. There are about 10000000087 posts on this so trythe search for a better answer.

The chain is easy to check, see the manual.

good luck.

do a search. some people go with the APE manual tensioner, i went with the stock one. It's all preference. search it up and figure out what best suit you

If you go with the APE make sure it is adjusted properly!

Is the sound there if I just rev it while in neutral? Because I dont hear anything while reving in neutral. I can only hear it while riding.
