View Full Version : Lean angle and signs of lowering?

Hey y'all,
I just acquired a wonderful '02 F4i, and am wondering if it might have been lowered sometime in its past. The kickstand clues me in to that idea, as it appears to be too short! The bike leans at least 25 degrees on a flat surface! Also, the stand protrudes out from the side of the bike, causing it to scrape the ground on left-handers, MUCH sooner than it would otherwise. I can go MUCH lower on the right side.
Also, can anyone provide me with a way to determine if the bike has been/ is still lowered? It doesn't feel low, but you never know...it's a new bike, anyways.

Thanks

Seat height is... what... 31.5"...? That'd be a good place to start...

Your stand may just be bent. Maybe someone can measure their stand from bolt center to pad tip and post up? I'll do it in an hour or so when I'm home for lunch if nobody beats me to it.

You should post some pics. If it was shortened, it shouldn't stick out, sounds bent.

throw up a picture, most of us can tell if it is still lowered by the looks of it.
