I do it exactly like auto. I usually open them up and let gravity bleed till i get clean new fluid out of both fronts, close the bleeders, then pump the lever 3-4 times and hold. Open a bleeder till the handle is half way down and close it. Do this 3-4 times per caliper to make sure all the air is out. Rinse and repeat for the rear. I have done this countless number of times and never an issue.

When I switched to my SS lines I used a little vacuum thing to make sure that no air seeped back into the system. It was very helpful in getting my system bleed successfully, I have heard of people having troubles trying to get their system to be 95% or better.

Just do not let the reservoir run dry ... you will play hell getting all the air out then. A mity-vac makes the job real easy.
