I have an 03 f4i it was hit in the parking lot by a truck so i didn't ride it for a while. Went to start riding it again and ended up having to replace fuel pump. After replacing went to ride and it started cutting out around 8k rpm's in every gear. Took it to shop and they replaced the fuel pressure regulator and the spark plugs. Still has same problem. There are no fairings on the front and the intakes are off. Need help it is pissing me off.

 

Is your rev limiter screwed up? I can't think of any other rpm dependent thing that's so precise. Unless there's some change in fuel map and the ecu is messed up. any other issues? more info?

 

I called the shop today to see if they could tell me anything because they didn't really do anything to fix my bike. They told me to put my intakes back on because its getting to much air. That doesn't seem like it would cause that problem but i'll give it a try I'm at work now but i'm going to try when i get home.

 

hey, had a problem like that in a car. turned out a piece of plastic wrap, like on cigarette boxes got into the fuel tank and every time u hit hard throttle it would block the outlet and cut out the motor, but would be fine during regular driving b/c the fuel wasn't pulled as quickly to the motor. so check your tank and lines for anything that may be kicking around and could block the fuel line. just remember just cuz it doesnt rattle doesnt mean nothing is in there, it took us 4x of taking the gas tank out b4 we figured it out.
