New owner! 1993 1000f
I just picked up my new"93" 1000f last night.I didn't testdrive it and the owner failed to mention it need a clutch. It only has 7900 miles and it is spotless. A real clean, completly stock machine. I'm not an expert but itthink it's the clutch.Does theslipping get worse as it gets hotter? It got so bad after 15 minutes of riding around town in 90 deg heat that Ialmost didn't make it up the hill to my house. I took it aound the block an hour later after it cooled down andit wasn't so bad.
yup its the clutch or the bearings in the crank case get them checkd and look at the spring on the clutch if shes loose then its a bad clutch but maybe if you tighten the line you might beable to tell 4 sure if its the cluch or not but owning my 94 that you commented about for 3 years and now the gsxr1k and cbr954rr yeah to me thats what it sounds like well g/l
I just replaced my clutch on 1990 CBR1000F after 65,000 km so here is my view.....
After such low mileage (if it is really that low!) the clutch should not be a problem.
The hydrolic mechanism has no adjustmet so dont worry about that.
If sombody put fully synthetic oil (or additives)in the bike then this can cause slip.
Solution 1 - Replace oil and filter try again for slippage.
Solution 2- Replace clutch parts as needed.(Mine after 65,000k - all parts were still in spec so maybe you will only need fibre plates.) See this site for detailed clutch replacement with magnificent pictures.

WOW! I just posted here, https://cbrforum.com/m_237650/tm.htm, I also mentioned that synthetic oil and additives can make a clutch slip. I agree, if the previous owner put some additive in it, the clutch would slip.
I would change the oil with the cheap stuff (maybe a detergent oil) and run the bike for a few days, easy on the throttle. Change the oil and filter and do the same again. I would do this to dilute what is in the crankcase. I would do this before tearing into the bike.
Edit: Can't post
