Default how do i align the front end?

my frame is fine. the forks are twisted a little. each fork is straight and, with exception to a leaking seal, in good condition. with the handlebars straight and level the tire seems to point to the left. the turningg radius to the left is greater than to the right. if i look down the forks with the fairings off i can see that the bottom of the right fork is further out front than the left one by 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. can i adjust the tripletree? any help apprciated.

The fork tubes are held into the Tripple Trees by "Pinch" bolts. One at the top and one at the bottom. Before you loosen them make sure you're supporting the bike otherwise it can suddenly slide down the fork tubes. You loosen the pinch bolts on the tripple trees and you can realign the fork tubes fairly easily.

Suggest you download the manual :
http://members.iinet.net.au/~cbr/Hon...Manual.pdf>
OR
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/midlife/i...ice_Manual.pdf
It should also show you which parts are interchangeable, and what the op. temp should be.
also check
www.mrcycles.com - there are microfiches and part numbers on all the Hondas, so you can cross-reference them.
A short and brutal method to adjust the front end would be to put the front wheel in the corner of a wall and give the bars a firm bump/tug/smack in the desired direction. I do't advocate this, but I did do it to a GPZ900R a while ago, and it worked fine. If only one fork stantion appears out of line, one of them is bent, I think...........[X(]
Hope this helps.

Default RE: how do i align the front end?

so i could theoretically straighten my front end the same way a child would straighten out the front of a bmx bike? cool. hte forks are both the same length so i'm not sure what the pinch bolts are going to do for me. maybe i misunderstand that suggestion.... howeverwith the tire in the corner method, would i need to loosen any bolts or fittings to make that work?? i can't see that anything is bent. to be clear, i thought that maybe the top bracket of the tree and the bottom bracket of the tree were twisted out of alignment a little and that there was a way to untwist them. any other ideas?
