my sister has an 04 f4i that is bone stock. its her 1st bike and she really doesnt know much about them. she hasnt ridden it in a while and because of her schedule she doesnt have much time. so she asks me to take her bike out and ride it (after i bitcht her for letting the bike sit). so i take her out and ride it. it feels horrible and slow, but i chalk it up to the fact that iride a fairly well modded and set up 07 6oorr. so i go to throw her through a corner it scares the **** out of me. rear end is squirrelly as hell and sliding all over. the front end is bouncing all about. so i pull into the next gas station and check the tire pressures first thing. HOLY ****!! the front tire is at 53 lbs and the rear is at 18. no fuggin wonder. so i ride her home, let the tires cool down, and adjust the pressures. 36 up front and 42 rear on the dunlop 208s. then i set the suspension up according to sport riders suggested settings and then adjusted them to fit her from there. then i went riding again. a million times better but it doesnt mke up for the fact that the thing is rediculously slow. so do you guys suggeststarting out the same as i did? with a pipeand power commander. my sis even griped slightly about the slow accelleration. sosuggested a 1 tooth down front sprocket.

so now that my novel is complete send up your suggestions.

If your sister finds it slow theres something wrong. And for you, it may seem Slightly slower, but still should not feel 'slow'

Did you ride it after you corrected the tire pressure? What makes you think it lacks power? Is it bogging down. If it has been sitting, my guess is bad gas!

I just put a 520 conv on my F4 and it's got more torque but it won't give you more horse power.

Slow?

How fast do you really need to go on the street? OR on base? lol

I'm thinking bad gas for having it sit so long. An F4i really shouldn't be much slower than a new RR. The RR should win but it shouldn't make the F4i feel slow in comparision. Two guys I ride with have R1's and I've done a couple of roll ons with them and I felt like my bike didn't do too bad when I went against them. They would only pull a few cars from say 40-110.

well just to give a comparison. her f4i is bone stock. my rr has a 2 bros pipe, pc3 w/custom map, carbon fiber front fender hugger chain guard heel guards mid pipe shield, and carrozzerria light wieght wheels. i had it dyno'd at 112.3 at the rear wheel. and wieghed it at a wiegh station at 387 full of fuel. so there is a huge difference between the bikes. the bike only sat for about 3 weeks with 93 octain so the gas shouldnt be bad. i even ran the tank empty and refilled it with 93.

Hey F3racer, any chance you have a link to this online or could you get me the info on what issue your lookin at? I've been poking around to find just what it sounds like you used. My F4i is a little soft in front and I wanna start somewhere instead of guessing.

Any help would be appreciated

while I will admit that the F4i doesnt accelerate as hard or have the torque in the lower RPMs, its not slow. either something is wrong with the bike or your not riding it right. The F4i does take a nice sunday afternoon stroll in the park until it gets up to about 9-10K rpm, then it turns into a beast. I have both an '01F4i and a 07rr (actually just sold the f4i night before last:() and yes there is a huge difference.

however, with only a slip on and a power commander(which really dont do **** for hp) and stock gearing, I can turn the same lap times as some on thier RR's, and I have no problems hanging with most any on the streets.

-1/+2 It takes care of it. I would get her a speedohealer too. It really sucks guessing your speed all the time. I have a slip on and pcIII but the pc doesn't add any real power. You will like it with -1/+2. Trust me.
