crazy idea
i been woundering about this and wether it would be possible. let me know what you think
what if you chopped the tail off of a 05-06 600rr and shortened the mid pipe and put a shorty pipe on under the front seat or off the side of it ? could you do it. you would have to move the lights and get the rear cowl custom made but i think it would be cool looking.
i wish more bikes were for 1 person than 2. the extra tail in the back looks cool but it would be more cool and diffrent if it was not there.

So you mean shorten the bike?? Where the seat is right?? that would be a crazy mod.. i dont know how it would affect handling and such but that would be an extreme mod and get some pretty cool looks. I dunno what you could do with all the wiring and such back there, there is not that much room left over on these bikes for too much of a change. Cool idea tho
all the wires going behind the front seat is for the lights right? so i mean there cant be to to much and i am sure you could figure a way out to get it in there.
you could probley just cut the subfame a little behind the seat and get a tail molded. then get a shorty can or cut one. easyer said then done i am sure but i would love to try it

yeah it would be trial and error... i know on my f4 i have the relay and some other black boxes along the side and back of the subframe but i'm sure these could be moved. It would be an extremely expensive mod unless you are good with welding and have a lot of time. You would most likely have to put a hugger on the back tire to give you some protection from rocks and such
funny you say this, I was just thinking tonite of doing the same thing, kinda. I was imagining putting a 08 subframe on my 07 1000RR and putting a shorty pipe on it (or cutting the brothers down). This would shorten the bike up a bit. Get outta my head, you some kinda mind reader or something?!?
My problem would be the subframe connection points, to the frame, are not the same and the tank wouldnt line up. There would need to be some serious work done, but I think that would look-a-sah-weet

Why not fit a tailpiece which does away with the rear seat - like this ?
It's off a different bike, but you get the picture.

[sm=noooo.gif] i dont think that would look right. but then it looks like ya kinda got an extended swingarm but not really. lol. just get a rear seat cowl. haha. problem solved. but if you do go ahead with it, post some pix!
There's a Buell that romps around in my area that has a look similar to that - pretty much stops after the driver's seat. And it's lowered. I think it looks sweet. Not sure if it would look as good on a full-fairing sport bike, but it'd be different!
