Well, before my bike would do power wheelies no problem. I was always scared to give her full throttle in 1st gear because the front wheel would always come up. I had some super soft AMA barely street legal pirelli's.

When they wore out, I switched to pilot powers. Now, I can give it full power in 1st gear no problem. The front never comes up anymore. I did play around with my buttons on the power commander once, but I don't know if I messed anything up doing that.

Do soft compouds really make a huge difference in grip? Or is something else seem weird about all this. I did play around with the buttons on my power commander once to see what they would do (which was nothing, I think. I still dunno what the Low, Med, Hi buttons do). I've noticed the LED bar that moves with my throttle on my power commander never goes more than halfway to the top... even with full throttle.

OK Fly, your meter does need to go all the way up with the throttle, you should correct that. As far as the wheelies, kinda hard to say, but i dont think the tires would be the cause. You are either grabbing or spinning, pretty much gotta be one or the other. So you could be down on power a bit, maybe your technique is different and you dont realize it, or your spinning and you dont realize it.

 

yea, if it was the tires that were preventing the wheelies, then u would have to be spinning them.
if theyre not spinning then theyre sticking enough to power up
plus i have pilow powers ( i just got a new one tuesday ) and i power it up just fine in first, going about 20 or so mph
i just give it gas, cut it real fast, then hit it again.

The tires should not cause this problem. Sounds like you pushed too many buttons on your power commander.

OK, so maybe it is my power commander. Well, How do I get those bars to go all the way to the top again? haha. I know you can't 'delete' the map without plugging a computer into it. I have unplugged it from the bike once.

I bought the bike used and the guy had it custom mapped at the shop. The map should still be on there, i think i just started pressing buttons and messed it up. How can I get it back?

 

Turn your bike off with the kill switch on.... Hold all three buttons and turn the bike on. It will only show one bar to let you know its able to be programmed... Then use the buttons to move the bar to the desired position...
