Went out for the first long ride of the season today and it ended well before i expected. I was turning the corner to get onto the highway and there it was, the mother of all pot holes. I hit the gas to lift the front tire over it but the back fell right into it and i ended up bending the rim enough so that the bead broke. I am up in NH and they have not started filling all the holes in yet.... Going to try to get it pounded out but dont know if they can....what you guys think....

Sucks to hear, bro. Let us know if the city will end up paying for it or not.

It's pretty common in canyons/mountains/twisties, i hit one mid-turn and almost slammed into the cliff. Just gotta be as aware as you can.

I live in Nashua, so i was taking a nice ride up through manchester over to hudson. It all happned getting onto 101 W in Beford, i just went and checked with my local shop and they were unable to pound it out... Looks like i am going to see if Argo cycles has anything, if not Ebay time.

holy crap batman. it's hard to break the bead when you're TRYING to do it to change a tire. you must have nailed it. motorcycle wheels/tires = your life. get a used one on ebay or some place. i hope there wasn't any other damage to your bike.

keep us posted if you can get the township to replace your rim. it would be useful information to us all!!

Yeah i am deffiently luck, i came out of the hole sideways and straightened it out somehow. I dented the rim bad, I heard the pop but i thought it was my plastics comming apart which they did inthe front. Kept riding for another mile and it slowly seeped all out. I felt a vibration at first, then power loss, then realized it was dead.

Ouch...glad I asked...I ride out that way a bit myself sometimes...that sucks man...who was your local shop? Naults? I'll have to keep my eyes peeled real well on that stretch...I caught a pothole Saturday on my Ninja 250 but luckily it was just like a big bump with no damage...scares the bejesus out of you though

Hope you get your ride back to where it needs to be...warmer weather here this week!!
