Default help! Bike choke at full throttle -- parts identification

Hi, i just brought an 02' 954rr with 8k miles.
Everytime i snap the throttle back to full throttle the bike would hesistate and shake as if it is not getting any gas.

If i slowly pull the throttle back and accelerate then there is no problem. I tried this is 1st and 2nd gear and the problem persisted around 6-7k rpm. Not sure at what rpm it starts acting up because my eyes were on the road.

Could it be a sensor problem? needs tuning up?

Also , the previous owner relocated the intrument cluster, i would like to know the name of the OEM bracket that holds the instrument cluster, thankyou.

check the TP sensor and also the throttle bodies.. also the bracket you are talking about is the fairing stay bracket.. the other one that does on top of that and has like extended arms that hold the mirror and top part of the fairing on is called the upper stay bracket

Does the bike have a power commander?

I would bet the previous owner did a HTEC removal and left the flapper in. This really screws everything up. If you remove the HTEC you have to remove the flapper. Otherwise the bike chokes hard at low RPMs when you snap the throttle.

hey, so if the htec is removed, how can i tell-- it does have an aftermarket exhaust on it..
Also- where is the flapper located so i can have them removed if the htec is disabled.

Is the aftermarket exhaust a full system or just a bolt on?The flapper is in the air box,you can either remove it or screw it down. The HTEV valve is located on the bottom of the exhaust and has a couple of cables attached to it.

I took the flapper completely out. Best mod I ever did.
