I hear the f4i is...
So I hear the f4i is one of the most reliable easy going sport bikes around? I just picked one up I hear people putting 30+k miles on them no sweat with very little maitenance (being that you treat it good and do the normal maitenance). The bike seems well balanced and I looke forward to riding mine it has 12k miles so it should have plenty more. Does any f4i owners have any advice for a newcomer? Thanks
They are bulletproof. As long as you keep up the maintenance. You will have a large service needed at the 16k mark. Other than that just the usuall. Make sure you keep your chain adjusted properly and clean. There is a ton of info on this forum. Do a search on whatever you want to do, and you will find someone has done it and made a tutorial for it.
Good luck and have fun!!!! Ride safe.

Jaynd-
I had my 16k service done at a dealer. Granted 90% of it I could have done myself. Looking back I kinda wished I would have. The valve adjustment was the one thing I was not comfortable with. But from what I have read on this forum, the valve adjustment is not that bad. Just time consuming. I think I paid about $650 dollars for the 16k service. I probably got ripped off, but at the time it was just a peace of mind. Just about everything got done; fluids, valve adjustment, plugs, etc................

Welcome to the site! You picked yourself up one of the funnest toys that you will ever have. Advise...get yourself a Clymer (sp) manual. That way, you'll be able to know how to mess with the bike in an educated manner.
