Any reviews on DMP Stands? I looked for the ole Checkered Flag set and they seem to have disappeared and had mixed reviews.

Anyhow... I have a request in from a friend to find a good set and I'm trying to give him the options. I love my Vortex and buy them again. But, since I have the vortex stands with the front that lifts from the stem, all he will need is the set that uses the forks. The DMP set goes for $125.90 ($200.14 shipped).

Wait... scratch that. I just found the R series in DMP stands. The race version are better made and I found a place that doesn't jack up the shipping to $70. US Superbikes.com has the race version for about $215 shipped and about $145 for the s style shipped.

also, I have heard that the trex stands on ebay are okay and inexpensive. Personally i like my pitbull stands.

It would be best in the long run if he got the front stand that lifts from the bottom of the steering stem. The advantage is that you can pull off the fork legs for maintenance, and everything else. The kind that lift from the bottom of each fork leg are only good for changing tires. Something he should think about.
As for those stands, I don't know. I have pitbull front and rear. The nice thing about pitbull is you can find the front adapter pins almost anywhere and the same for the rear stand parts. And the front stand (steering stem lift) folds nicely so it's only as big as the rear stand. Expect to pay about $120 for rear and $150 for front (stem lift). You only have to buy quality once though.

I have the vortex stand that lifts with the steering stem, so he can buy the fork style and use mine when needed. What's the odds of both of us needed to work on the forks at the same time.

These will mostly be used for cleaning the bike, he's not the type to get his hands dirty and I'll be doing that sort of thing for him. I know the quality side of it, but at the same time, I don't want to tell him to buy an hummer (H1, the only real hummer... not the H2o or 3 water down version) and never take it off road.
