I have never done my grips before, but I put the rubbers on my levers on my old bike with soap/water. It took a little work but i got them on. I would guess it could work the same, I could be wrong though.

Luckily for me, mine came right off with a lil twisting and pulling.

Then to make sure they stick, I sprayed the inside of the new ones down with some hair spray.

Remove your barends, use some compressed air (if you don't have an air compressor this wont work) blow air between the bar and the grip as you are trying to pull it off. The air will temporarily expand the grip enough to make it slip. You may have to do this more than once to get the grip off. When you re-install the new ones push them as far as you can then blow air up in between grip and bar as before as you are pushing them on. Again it may take more than once to get it all the way on. This has worked for me every time and I've never had to put anything in or on them to get them to stay.

The easiest way to remove the old grips is to use a lubricant. Just pryup the edge of the grip and use the straw that comes with the WD-40 can to shoot some in there. Then twist the grip to work the lube around and it will slip off in no time.

Razor blade the old ones off and use yo mammas hairspray inside the news ones. Let 'em soak for a few minutes and put 'em where you want 'em. Leave them alone for a couple of hours.
