Hey,
I got a 93 cbr f2 and it will not down shift to 1st gear after I've shifted to 3rd or higher. My bikes got 9k miles on it and it hasnt gotten a clutch job yet, so I think it could be the clutch slip but it would cause trouble for all gears right? Also, it took a rightside fall recently and I hope that wouldn't have bend any of the linkages, which may cause this problem. Any suggestions what it could be? If I needed to get back to first, how do you do a smooth clutchless downshift to 1st?
Thanks

Clutchless DOWN-shifting is hard to get done on the older CBR's, and I assume most any bike without a slipper clutch, or a race transmission.

Plus you want to use the clutch for DOWN shifts, as this avoids the dreaded over-rev and wheel hop you will get from sloppy shift work.

The desirable clutchless shifting you want is UP-SHIFTING.

Still, with the recent fall you've had I would check the linkage.

If your bike shifts fine with the clutch used, then you are fine and G2G. (Good To Go)
