how much money and pain am I looking into spending if I wanna put an extended swing arm and a fatter rear wheel on my 99 900RR? the biggest problem I see coming is the chain rubbing on the arm or the tire if the rim is too wide. I've never done anything like this before so I figured somebody might have some good insight.

I live in hawaii and I sent my swingarm to Thompsons Custom Cyclesover in north carolina...I had him do an 8 inch stretch and add an underbrace for rigidity, He warrantees his work for life and is on time with production...he told me it would take three weeks and three it did...Total cost.....$681.00 and to me it was well worth it...BTW, that includes the shipping to and from, shipping was about 200.00...
Oh and another thing, I dont know what your into, looks or functionality but a stretch more than 8 inches is really not worth it....as for tire,,,I just put a 190 shinko on and there looks to be enough room for a 200 but the 190s fine

That sounds like a great deal. I'm not goin any more than 6 or 8 inches. It will be somewhat functional, but I love the way it looks too.

The angle of the shot is a little off but the highest part of the rear tire sits right under the tail light and the bike sits lower with a rider on top,,,heres with the 6in extensions and old paint job before the extensions snapped...

I was going to put extensions on my 98 900rr.. How did they snap? were you riding it when they did, or were you working on the rear? I dont want to be driving along and "SNAP".. that would suck

if you havent sent it off yet call jeepers racing 336-472-3235 they specialize in the 900 rr they own the double barrell 900's that were in 2 wheel tuner not to long ago. he priced me at 10 in 375. 2 weeks plus shipping . i think he also said $25 for each additional 2 inches.

Sorry so late...they were six in. extensions from yana shiki...i had them on my bike for about3 months...one day I saw a couple of my friends at the beach and they were yelling for a burnout so burnout I did....From a near stop i put it in 1st feathered the clutch and proceeded to roast the back tire, the rear went right, then wide left and there was the snap...extensions are weekend warrior parts...if you want a stetched bike then spend the extra $ and get a real swingarm, or do an exchange like thompsons custom cycles does...they're in the back of just about every bike tuner mag out there...I stretched my bike not to keep it under control but to keep myself under control...if I ever want a stock swingarm Ill look on E-Bay of somewhere else. they arent that hard to find. even if you arent into burnouts and stuff like that, just think, your old lady on the backand agood bump in the road is enoufgh to break them...most are only rated at 250 pounds ea. so thats afive hundred poundweight limit on the back...add the weightof the bikes rear end and your weight and you should be pretty close to that limit....

Would a 200 def fit in the swingarm or the 190 for sure ... I have a 190 now but all the burnouts ate the tire so I need a new one ... Should I go for the 200?

I've got a 190 shinko on there right now and that's about the limit id go with that.
its pretty safe to say that a 200 will rub cause the 190 is pretty close to the chain as is without rubbing the tire.

a question.... the rear brake? the calipper stays on the swing arm. and with the extension where is the position. can you put a foto? thenk you.
