There is a soft white "crust" building up in the keyhole to my gas cap. Never thought it was really a big deal but the last time I went to fill up I had a pretty tough time of getting my cap to unlock. Anyone else have any problems like this?

Excess wax?

use some canned air to get the crust out. then coat the lock with something to protect it from further 'crsuting' The alum is breaking down like a old setting carb does. Mine was similar.

Thanks...any suggestions on what I can protect it with? I'd hate to be on a long trip one day and not be able to fill up!
