Default Service Manual/Rear Brake Pedal

Does anyone know where I can download the Service Manual to my 2004 CBR 600RR? I just bought the bike this past weekend and it did not come with the manual. Also, is anyone familiar with the process of replacing the rear brake pedal? I'm sure it can't be a whole lot to it, just curious if anyone out there has done it before and has some tips. I appreciate your help.

well...i have an '01 f4i but i think the rearsets honda uses are pretty much the same albeit slightly different from model to model...if you look at my sig...click on the link, i have some pictures up and some notes about removing the rearset and disassembling them (i sent mine out for powdercoating)....don't know exactly what you want to do to rear brake but my thread can at least give you a vague idea of what is involved...(it's not that hard)...

Thanks man, I looked through your threat and by the way, very nice bike. I really like what you've done to it. I wasn't able to find anything on the disassembling though. I don't even need to take off the whole brake assembly, just the brake pedal itself. I think if I just take the bolt out, I can slide the pedal off. I'm just wondering if the springs are going to be a pain to get back into place correctly.

thanks....well to get the brake lever off there are two springs attached to it (if it likes the f4i which i assume it is)...one is for the brake light and the other is provide tension on it....the springs aren't hard to re-attach.....as for taking off JUST the brake lever of the rearset....once again, if it's like the f4i, it uses a retaining clip to hold a washer onto the lever and on the rearset....like here...

that is the brake side...notice the spring for tension....and notice the retaining clip...take that off and the lever slides right off...

I am only assuming that the 2004 is similar to the 2003... but here is the link to a zipped version of the manual for a 2003 CBR 600RR. -->here<--

just fyi...if you are looking for a disassembly of the rearset or how to remove the peg in the service manual, it likely won't be there....for some reason...the service manuals explode everything....but not things like the rear pegs or rearsets...it merely talks about how to get them off....not how to disassemble them indvidually....i don't know...maybe later years is difference...if it is...lucky bastards
