I am looking for a nice winter jacket to use but would like to be able to wear it year round (except with its like 95 out)..I would prefer something to be very tight fitting, the jacket i have now is a Joe rocket jacket i got used for like 60 bucks with my bike. It was a great deal but its not leather, I can get cold in it, and its too big. So my main concern is the warmth and preferring the tight fit.

So far I’ve tried on this jacket in person and its tight fitting, heavy, but its perforated leather and im worried how much 30 degree air is gunna be going though there. Any body have reviews of this jacket ? http://www.rapidracer.com/moaplemoja.html

Don't get a tight fitting leather jacket. Get something like an AGV that has armor and a little room. Then when it gets down to 30F you can wear long handles and maybe an insulated flannel shirt. I ride that way down to 30F -- if it gets colder than that I put on the "Super Suit". It's good to around 0F.

And don't forget the warm gloves. If the fingers is cold you just can't seem to get comfortable. My winter gloves are Tourmaster Winter Elite. Warmest gloves I've ever had -- only heated gloves are warmer.

I ride all winter in Colorado. It's a dry cold, but it's cold. My fairing protects most of my chest, but I wear a perforated Fieldshear jacket with a wind block underneath. I use Hippo Hands and light elkskin gloves to keep my hands warm. To keep my legs warm, I use First Gear Pilot leather pants. i have the Dainese Monza leather jacket....pretty warm when i ride at nite...i also have the Dainese Firestarter gloves..man they are so soft and they really keep u warm...i suggestion is to get a head "sock"...sorta like a ski mask in other words..u can either get it thin, mid, or thick...it will help out alot

Slow poke does your perforated jacket actually let in air (if so how much) ? I may be buying the Moto GP one soon and need to know how much air im lettin in.....I tryed it on and it has enough room for 1 or 2 thin layers (no hodies or nothing). But its got very little neck coverage so that might be the deciding factor not to buy it if the perforated holes dont play a factor.

And xmun I got one of thoes already they work great.

Not very much really, but there's some stretch mesh at my bicepts that lets in a lot of air. I wear a windblock fleece shirt, that my wife made for me, underneath. You have to wear a bandana around your chin and neck to keep out the cold.

go to a ski and snowboard store and get a head sock thats thin on the head, and thick around the neck, so the helmet fits the same but keeps neck warmer than a hanky.

I have to go with stamford asked for originaly, Im a smaller guy (150 lbs) and ive had textile and other non leather jackets. Snug leather is the only thing for me that dosnt feel like a parachute trying to drag me off the back of my bike. I currnetly have an icon and a joe rocket...torn between the two the joe rocket matches my bike perfect, but the icon is way more comfortable, mainly beacuse the elbow pads in the joe rocket are friggin huge!

i have an alpinestars ice jacket...its got zippered ventilation on both shoulders and a large one across the back plus perf leather in the under arm area and down the sides. i live in fl and have worn it while it was 90+ degrees out...ive im stuck in traffic im wishing i would die but as long as your moving the jacket is very very comfortable.

Thumbs up, on that sonic perf., exellent quality too. It is my experiance, that it is easyer to"wind stop" and insulate a perferated in the cold, than it is to survive a "solid" leather, in (for me) temps above about 80f. Perf., all year round, accept when it looks like rain.
If a person is adept, in "other" sport cothing adaptation, you can really match up weather/ventalation/warmth needs, in a very articulate way. I use mountainiering, running, bicycling, hiking, fishing, boating,camping, gear... finding the tested hitech stuff, that really works for specific conditions. "Gortex" type breathables, are heaven... 'cause it sucks to get sweaty, then freeze to death.
I posted a funny blog about finding new womens silk leasure/lounging tops and bottoms, at the local ukranian thrift store... don't laugh... they work killer!!!!, as wind breaks, over poly long johns. I use 'em under my perf 1pc. leathers too, year round, in 35f,w/ insulation also. Remember, all pro mt.climbing gear, and milatary exstreme wear, used silk inside...before hitech materials!!!!! The gortex suit,(admitedly better) is 650$!!!! the silk stuff, 3.99$, ea., top and bottom !!!!!!! and wind, just DOSEN'T get thru... Hey, It comes in 3x too, go figure!!!!!!!!! I'm 6'4/265lb, and look like a Klingon Harry Henderson...Nobodys hassled me yet... altho the ukranian cashier, looked at me, kind a funny !!!!!!!!!!! Held spandex, also makes a great liner for leathers too. Poly "starter" t's, (walmart) are usualy on the discount rack for 3$. I just scored a joe rocket "breathable" wind stop jacket liner, w/ zip flap (important feature!!!) for 10$!!!!!, Off the discount rack, at the local bike shop. it pays, to look around !!!!!!!!! I have icon merc leather fits great and has a wind liner works great!

I wear an Alpinestars textile coat with its long-sleeved, insulated, removable liner in the colder weather (also has removable armor). It is a full length coat (damn near covers my ass when I am standing) but not too long to be uncomfortable when I'm in the saddle. Very nice coat I must say, sorry but I can't remember the model. During warmer months I can wear it without the liner and it's tolerable up to about 80. After that it's too hot and I move to my PowerTrip jacket.

Another thing I have added to my riding apparel is an Under Armor cold climate, long sleeve mock t-neck. That thing is warmer than any other under-shirt I have ever worn. I wear it hunting, ice fishing, playing hockey on the pond, etc. Or you can even go to a military surplus store and see what they've got for "arctic" gear... got some really good deals there. I bought a neck gaiter for $5.00 - it helps to keep the neck, chin and upper chest a little warmer.

Hey stamford I see you like the Italian style fitting jackets,if you have not gut there are the best jackets out there (my opinion) I don't know much about the one you've listed But I can tell you that my Spidi NRG is similar and it protects well against wind,cold... because it hugs my body with no room for the element to get in between I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT (except in temps north of 90 then it's just too brutal) i swapped the protection with these http://www.johnsonleather.com/type-b_limbs.htm and it feels great even with the T-pro Forcefield Back Protector. i have an alpinestars tz1 good enough has perf vents in the shoulders i am using it currently .i have a windproof fleece i wear underneath it when its under 40 .imo it does not matter the jacket you should not want to be toasty hot but comfy cool/cold unless you plan on riding for hours in the winter any leather recommended will do ,just some brands fit differently so its better u go to the store try some on and as for summer perf or non perf you stop moving at a good pace your sweating

I have a Icon "tough arms" jacket, put a fleece under it and a gator neck on and Im great. It was 24 on my work this morning and I felt fine.

i love my joe rocket cbr leather jacket.. i put a layer or two on under that with a hoodie and i'm good to go
