So in a moment of sheer genius, and holed sweatpants, i lost my only key. I talked to a locksmith and they said if i can get the ignition # they could tell me whether or not they could make me a key. They said it could be on the bottom of the gas tank lid, which, after a failed attempt, realized you most likely need the key to take off anyway. Any suggestions on how i could get this number w/o ripping apart my igntion would be great. Thanks guys

talk to a real locksmith...i know a couple of guys that can make a key without the key number....or u can go to the dealership with ur vin# and they can bring up the the # for the cut

You can unbolt the gas cap with only a few screws. The whole assembly will come out. You can also talk to your Honda dealer and see if they can do something with the VIN # off the bike. Worst case senario you have to buy a whole new ignition lock set, which will have a new ignition switch, lock cyllinder, 2 keys, gas cap, and trunk lock. I think I paid $200 for all that at my dealer. But my ignition switch went out, so it would have been $75 to replace that anyways, and I didn't have a trunk lock and wanted one.
