Default What RPM @ 80 MPH???

I rode my friends 600RR tonight and it seems like the bike is geared rather low for interstate work?? I was reading 7000rpm at 80 MPH or so, is that the norm with these little six-hummin-it's?? I am acustomed to bigger bikes that pull about 4000-4500 rpm at these speeds. I didnt think the rpms would be THAT much higher (I was expecting 5500-6000) Just curious??

I've got a 600RR and in 6th gear, doing around 80, I'm usually pretty close to 7k rpm's as well. Usually a little under around 6-6 1/2. Seems pretty normal to me.

Caught a nice break in the weather here and got a ride in yesterday. For my '06 600RR I am usually just under 7K @ 80mph, YMMV.

I'd kill to get out and test this myself. 30 degrees and salt all over the place.

I'd like to ride a bike with new sprockets before I did the mod to my own.
