How can i lower the rear end of my bike by like one inch?(02 F4i) and my buddys F4? If i lower just one inche would i need to adjust the front also? Thanks

This topic sure has come up alot lately!! You can lower it using Lowering Links ( and you can get these from any Tucker Rocky dealer ( any motorcycle shop should be able to order it from them, but they are a DEALER Only distributor and do not sell to the public) and yes you will have to lower the fork height by raising the tubes in the triple clamp. DO NOT TRY THIS BY YOURSELF!! To lower the front you have to release the pinch bolts on the triple clamp and if the motorcycle is not supported properly the whole thing will go SLAMMING to the ground!! Another thing you might have to do is to have the kickstand shortened as well otherwise the bike will stand straight up or just fall over when it is parked

For short people ( like myself) it isnt the height that is really the problem it is the width of the seat. And F4i's dont have 2 inches of foam in the seat, they are bricks covered in vinyl ( at least that is what it feels like) the F4 on the other hand is fairly cushy

Dont let people discourage you. Lowering your bike is not hard. Teh ony thing you need to buy is the lowering link. If you go to the dealer and they say they have one that lowers the bike 1 in, and 3 in, make SURE IF you want the 3 in lowering, because the one i got was for an f4i, and UNDER the lowering link, it said ONLY the 1 in will work. The 3 in wouldnt work on the f2, f4, or f4i.

But, lowering the front isnt that hard at all either. As long as you know the PROPER steps, youll be fine.

i think im gonna keep the standard height but look into the corbin seat. thanks for ya'lls input

Are you looking to do this just because your feet arent flat on the ground, or are you looking into doing it for performance reasons??

well my feet are flat if im sitting right up on the gas tank but when i ride i sit back away from the tank and if it was goin to be as easy as maybe changing the spring setting for just a slight drop i was goin to do it. but sliding back on the seat when im riding is alot easier and cheaper than lowering it.

Yeah, i hear ya. I was the exact same way. Im not a big fan of the aftermarket seats. Lowering it one in. gave me what i wanted as in being flat footed while sitting back, it had a better stance, and it did a lot for the take off.

I dont know man. $100, and youve got yourself a better looking bike, a bike that is better off the line, AND your flat footed. ;) All 3.

Does it really make that big of a difference if you just lower the rear with the linkage and not the front?

you may want to double check that corbin seat bit. I am about 5'7, and with the stock seat I can get the balls of bothmy feet on the ground. with the corbin, it is too wide, and I can only put my toes down. If I slide off one side I can flat foot. but I cannot back the bike up with the corbin seat.
