View Full Version : 80MPH Wheelie!!!!
05F4iGuy 09-09-2005, 10:46 PM I am not condoning this type of behavior but I was riding home from work on the interstate and I came up on two fellers riding, one guy on a 02-04 GsX-R 600 Raises WAY UP and Held it effortlessly. I can hold one up pretty good at lower speeds like from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd, But I cannot even fathom how they do it at interstate speeds. I don't ever think I will do it but I am just trying to figure out how the heck they do it....
Any ideas? his buddy on a yellow and black GSX-r looks over at me and I look back wave at them and I boned out before some of these upidy MF'ers called the cops.
Thx for the info
f4i_reborn 09-09-2005, 10:51 PM wow... I hear you on the first to second can't shift to 3rd though... haven't tried since my bike was stock because my front end is too expensive now. I doubt it was anywhere near stock. Would a sprocket change make this possible on a 600?
formulafire99 09-09-2005, 10:57 PM nice, I know some guys with some gxr 600's and they can do tha same thing. They are all stock except for the slipon.I have been told those bike have a really good balance point.
f4i_reborn 09-10-2005, 02:31 AM yeah my f4i was really unsteady in the air... I could do it way easier on my friends 02 telephonica gixxer. a damper always helps the landings too.
VTcbr 06-27-2009, 12:25 AM That idiot had a sprocket the size of a pizza on there!

irule 06-27-2009, 04:51 PM That idiot had a sprocket the size of a pizza on there! -- This line is funny s$%t
From what I understand GXXRs have great acceleration. Buddy who owned one before trading it in for a duc 996 says the response from a wrist twist was must better on the gxxr
dave ls1 06-27-2009, 06:13 PM He probably just clutched it. You can do that on a stock F4i.
ford_loomis 06-28-2009, 09:12 PM my brother can do 80-90 mile an hour wheelie on his f4 with a stock sprocket and he even passed people and **** on the highway on one wheel. he used to do them at 120 on his 95 900rr back in the day... crazy bastard
bakesf4i 06-28-2009, 09:58 PM oh yeah well my brother has a bb gun and hes only 12!
yog182 06-28-2009, 10:15 PM The F4i has an amazing balance point.. Thats why its one of the prefered bikes for stunting along with the 636.. Most guys i ride with run with -1 tooth on the front sprocket bringing the f4i down to 15..
What is this, the Stunter's Corner now? Go ask this stuff in there, please.

LOL, just to clarify, i wasn't really bragging i was just using that as proof that a stock f4/f4i will do 80 mph wheelies

is it really neccasary to post in a thread you don't like about not liking it, just don't read it. I think its kinda silly that a thread gets moved because one person complains. and this thread started out talking about f4i performance in reference to wheelies, why wouldn't that fit in f4i
EvolvedMS 10-22-2009, 12:21 AM I cant do slow wheelies due to the size motor but I can do 1st(starting at 15mph) to 2nd to 3rd(a lil over 100mph) on my 1000RR, Its acually very easy and comfortable for me to hold them at 80-85mph...
LMP1327 12-09-2009, 10:20 PM most people wont be able to pull up a nearly stock/not geared much 600 on the interstate. It definitely takes practice and getting used to the bike.
If you want to do interstate wheelies, get a zx10r. never ridden anything more insane for wheelies.

TK954RR 02-15-2010, 10:27 AM Its not that hard, frankly its much easier going 80mph than it is going 5 mph. Any stock 600 (newer one anyhow) will lift in 3rd gear going down the highway quite easily (standup)
NoBrains01 02-28-2010, 08:46 PM Hi, I've always found that the faster you're going, the easier a wheelie is to control, until you get to about 120mph when the buffeting starts to mess with you. The best i've had "on the speedo" on one wheel is 141mph according to my mate on the back who was watching it for me :)
I wasn't on a F4i so it may not be relevent to F4i wheelies but as far as balance etc it shouldn't make a great difference what bike your on. A lot of power isn't needed once you're on the balance point so extra speed is just a twist of the wrist away, lol.
Just my opinion of course, oh, and it was on a closed road :icon_wink:

OK, You got me, lol. The worst thing is that i should know better at my age (46). I'm madder than i've ever been, although i was pretty bad between 14 and 17, they were the main crash years :icon_shrug: I just pick my places better nowadays as i like my arms and legs attached, lol.

929pimp 03-06-2010, 09:40 PM this thread is embarrassing
Black1KRR 03-06-2010, 11:42 PM GSXR'S are junk, 3rd gear and clutch is all you need.

Junk? That's a bit strong, lol. Everyone's entitled to their opinion i spose so i'm not going to retaliate and get caught in an argument :)
