What's the best, loudest etc.? And another question, how big of a difference is there from going from a bolt on muffler to a full exhaust upgrade (in sound and performance).

I had a M4 high mount carbon slip on my F4i.
Top quality piece. Was not obnoxiuosly loud, but had a deep throaty scream when at redline.
I liked the sound and looks of it.

I have the Levinche highmount slip on and LOVE it, to me it sounds very good and is still loud but not ear peircing like some bikes exhaust. My buddy has a 2-brothers and his also sounds pretty good(99 cbr600f4) but because its on my bike im little partial over mine[sm=happybounce.gif]

Do any of you know how the yoshimura RS-3 slip on compares to those sound wise and noise wise. I'm just wondering cause I have that on mine and I'm not sure what any of the other exhausts sound like, and I'm kind of interested in getting something else.

Whenever doing a mod you gotta go in knowing what you intend to accomplish. If you just want loud obnoxious sound get yourself an HMF Big Bird. I swear the noise is f'ing deafening. If you want usable torque/hp and a deeper, throaty exhaust note go with any of the major slip-ons (jardine, 2bros, akropovic etc). A full system prolly won't gain you any extra usable power (over a slip-on) but will slightly lighten the bike for racing purposes.

Can anyone comment on the sound of the D&D? I found a deal on a full system.

rediculously loud. If you like loud, that would be the pipe for ya. Personally, my wife had one on her old R6 and I had to take it off. Even in a group, no matter where she was, thats all you could hear.

My yoshimura on my bike is pretty loud, but with her bike running, you couldnt even hear mine.

I can comment that it's awesome. I have a d&d short and it's tremendous. You can hear me a long way away, but it's not obnoxiously high pitched. Deep throaty whommmmmm when you really start hitting it.

D&D sucks, I refuse to ride behind people with them. It's like putting a lour fart can on a POS car, pointless and loud for no damn reason.

It's tough being a smartass with bad spelling, isn't it?

But I get your point.

I like the micron High mounts aswell. My cousing had one on his and it wasnt too loud at idle or just cruising but as soon as you opened it up it got deep throaty and load. Probably what I will get for mine.

I would stay away from Yoshimura then, I personally like them, butits a pretty raspy exhaust note. If you want a deep rumble, Akrapovic makes a real nice sounding but pricey exhaust. They are usually not very loud, but pretty deep tone. Two brothers tends to be a little on the rumblierside too.( not sure if thats a word lol). Jardine is kind of in the middle, but they "burn in" really fast, much faster and more substantial than other exhaust. Meaning they will be quite a bit louder than when they were new. Micron tends to be right in the middle as well, but seem to hold their sound a lot better. There are a ton of exhaust companies out there, but these are the ones that I have heard or have experience with.

Depending on the model you choose. They usually offer a few different styles of cans. Carbon fiber, stainless or titanium. Carbon fiber is going to give you the more rumblier somewhat softer exhaust note. Stainless and titanium will be louder and a little raspier.
