I bought an 06 1000rr and want to start going to the track. I've been doing a lot of thinking of what parts I want to start with and I want to change out the suspension 1st. I don't know of any aftermarket parts and wanted to know some opinions. Also how do I tune the stock suspension? I'm 6'2" and 200lbs and want to know if the stock suspension settings are good enough for agressive track/street riding? If not how to I change it? Are there front and rear settings? Any information would help!!

it would serve you best to go to the track first and see how you do on the stock suspension.
in most cases, the stock suspension is fine until the rider surpasses a certain point. then the suspension starts to limit the rider.

at 200 lbs the stock suspension the 1kRR will be fine. there usually are suspension guys who will tune your suspension for you for less than $20.

to start off and swap it all out would be a waste if your riding isn't up to par at the moment.

I'd set your sag first of all then do your trackday and go from there.
setting sag is moderately easy, there are plenty of articles (I'd check traxxion dynamics website) and it can't hurt anything

get some experience on that and when you get to the point that suspension becomes an issue find a suspension tech at the track to work with you
