This was a fun project that wasn't too difficult with an end result that imo is well worth the effort.
Thanks to Thirdgenlxi for your help. Your advice was more than helpful

Nice, I just did a split seat swap on my F4, I still have to screw around a bit with the relays and to make evreying fit.
I can't wait to get it all buttoned down.

I am a little suprised at the amount of pm's I'm getting about this so I thought I should list the parts needed and discribe things beriefly. My bike is an 04-06 modle the tail conversion comes from an 01-03 model. (01-03 split seat..........04-06 banana seat)
The 01- 03 parts required are as follows.
Tail cowel (which will probably need to be painted), subframe(which came in black in that era, so I had mine blasted and coated), stock fender/battery compartment with lid (lid is very important because the ecm goes on top of the lid), tail light, passenger pegs, assorted lock mechenisims (I installed an undertail so didn't apply), rubber strap to hold down ecm, rubber boot for starter relay, and seats. Many of the fasteners can be re-used in the conversion.
This can be done in one day if you are prepared.......So I suggest you take the time tofamiliarize yourself with every part required and what is involved well before hand.
Hope this helps, and by all means, do still feel free to pm me should the need arise.
