i work for a honda car dealership as a technician on our honda vehicles we have a thing called immobilzer the key is matched and programed to the control unit in the vehicles ecm do the bikes have similar deals ?

I know Ducatis have them- basically if you lose the key, it takes an act of a higher power to get it sorted. rr954ryder 08-24-2005, 03:07 AM i'm not sure about brand new bikes but my 954 has a resistor in the ignition switch that feeds a pink wire to the ecu. so if you try to hot wire it you don't get the right resistance back to the ecu and it cuts off the fuel and spark. but there is nothing in the key |
