Well took the whole day to finally process the raw pictures. Cropping and color correcting 200+ pictures is no easy chore, specially when I had 900 to go through (over 3gb)! I burned the pics on DVD and gave it to everyone who was at the dragon that weekend. Anyhow, here's some story time with pics, enjoy! http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1823.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1825.jpg So I went to deals gap March 24-25, 2007 with a group of Evo's and bikers on my 600RR. The weekend was fun but so much ****ed up **** went wrong. The plan was to meet at 6am and leave around 7 on Saturday, get to deal's gap in the afternoon and run it once or twice the same day, hang out and get wasted Saturday night, then run the dragon and the skyway a few times on Sunday and leave in the afternoon and get home late night.

I tried to borrow a co-workers truck but then I find out that it breaks down after every two hours and since it was last notice, I didn't have enough time to fix the coolant problem (rust/calcium deposits in the coolant passages in the block is the most likely reason). We had another SUV to haul a small enclosed trailer that fits 2 bikes, but they were already reserved for two other people. We didn't leave till 8am because the driver of the SUV woke up late, then had problems leaving because the trailer detached on the road when we left waffle house... (Doh!)

So it was 3 bikers riding on our 600rr's, the SUV with trailer (+2 bike), 3 Evo's, 1 M3, and 1 WRX. We had to stop every hour because one of the 600rr riders is running a small front sprocket and larger rear sprocket so his rpm's at highway speeds are high. He could only go for like 90 miles till his gas tank is gone. And riding hours on end on the 600rr, the most uncomfortable street bike ever made, is an ass-hurting experience. After 20 mins, it becomes uncomfortable, now 6+ hours was insane.

We ended up speeding a little bit and got ahead of the SUV with the trailer. We stopped at Winston-Salem and find out that the transmission went out on the SUV and was stuck near Burlington. One of the girl's bike was on the trailer so another biker gave her a ride all the way back to Burlington to pick it up and ride it back and all the way to the dragon. We must have waited 3 hours so we just went near by mall and ended up being shopping bitches for the girls that were there. Two Evo's and the WRX guys didn't want to wait so they went ahead of us. This was also a good resting stop to take some nice photos. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/suv.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/igor.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/igor2.jpg Igor driving the SUV. He didn’t even make it out there with us because the transmission blew. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1833.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1834.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1840.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1846.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1856.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1858.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1861.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/jeffbaz/photoshoots/03-26-2007/IMG_1864.jpg [IMG]http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/

Sounds like you had a fun time indeed, an interesting weekend that you'll remember forever.

I can't believe all the crazy **** that happened, and I literally laughed out loud many times (in sympathy!).

Very good stuff. I needed a little work-time entertainment. Looking forward to the story of rebuilding the bike again!

great write up and pictures...
you are one lucky dude...

chill on unfamiliar roads, especially with the dragon cause otherwise, the decreasing radius turns will get you every time.

you have a death wish. Just in case you didnt know, I'm gonna put that out there for ya. First you risk life and limb on your bike on a public road, self-admitting you almost wrecked...what, 8 times... a few even after you already wrecked! Then you hang out the side of your friends car to take pics of the other guys car....for what?

You're dangerous Maverick, but you can be my wingman anytime!

We are but a mere pawns in this world, ever elusive to the dangers against our lives; not realizing that our existence could end at every corner of every second while we pump oxygen into our lungs. The universe throws us infinite amounts of hurdles to dodge and once in while, we clash with the very fate we try to ignore and discredit. Those who are surprised of an incident are just ignorant of what follows in their footsteps.

Don't shower your infantile attempts to impress your buddies through self-destructive crap with a bunch of philosophical bollox. You're the reason insurance is rediculous for everyone

hahhahaha...trolls...love them! so cute and funny!

but yes...the last 2 do have valid points...you do need to chill a bit...
whatever philosophy your philosophy may be...you have something call free will...putting yourself in danger by riding beyond certain limits is a choice...and that gravel in the middle of the road a rider hits while in full lean is not a hurdle from the universe, but left there by someone trying to drift their way through a turn, like the EVO...which also had a choice to do so or not to do so...therefore, these dangers aren't just thrown at you, they are due to the free will of many others.
blaming accidents, etc. on fate discredits free will....because they can be avoided.

Yup, haven't ridden the bike since either... my heart rate is still quite high. But I'm planning on another Deal's Gap trip right after exams. This time I'm buying a truck before hand and definitely like spend a week over there.

I seriously just want to get out there and take some pictures (riding a bit too). So much photo opportunities and I was jealous about the amount of photographers that were there with nice cameras...

That body is crossed up. Lean into the turn!

That shot isn't of me, just some local guys messing around. In that picture, he was actually slowing down so he was compensating and adjusting his body position. Lots of traffic ahead of us.

Oh ok. Well he is doing that right then if he is slowing while in a turn.
